Main Ingredients
- 2 large bananas
- 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt
- 24 mini chocolate chips
- 8 popsicle sticks
Instructions
- Prepare the bananas: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a Silpat mat. Peel the bananas and cut each banana in half. Then slice each half crosswise in half, creating 8 pieces total.
- Insert sticks: Carefully insert a popsicle stick into the bottom of each banana piece, then place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Freeze bananas: Place the baking sheet with bananas in the freezer for 30 minutes to 1 hour until completely frozen.
- Dip in yogurt: Pour the vanilla yogurt into a tall glass. Dip each frozen banana piece into the yogurt to fully coat it, then return it to the baking sheet.
- Decorate: Place 3 mini chocolate chips on each yogurt-coated banana to form the eyes and mouth of the ghost.
- Final freeze: Return the baking sheet to the freezer for an additional 20 minutes to set the yogurt coating.
- Serve or store: Enjoy immediately or store the Boonanas in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 months.
Notes
- Use Silpat or parchment paper to prevent sticking during freezing.
- Vanilla yogurt works best for a smooth coating and sweet flavor; Greek yogurt can be used for added protein.
- Mini chocolate chips make perfect eyes and mouth details; you can also use raisins or edible markers.
- Ensure bananas are fully frozen before dipping to get an even yogurt coating.
- Serve as a fun and healthy snack for children during Halloween or any time of year.
